Saints crowned as Scottish champs

The women of Midlothian Saints secured their first ever Scottish League title by defeating Edinburgh Kool Kats 69-55 at the weekend. Saints, coached by former Murray International chief Ian Gordon, remain unbeaten this season and will now look to complete the domestic double in the Cup.
The Lasswade based outfit denied the capital side a single field goal in the opening minute as they built a vital lead which they retained, Jane Ward notching 16 points.
"I came in half-way through last season and I wanted to coach the women again because we lost in the Cup final and I thouht this year we have unfinished business," said a delighted Gordon.
"We can still go unbeaten this season but all that matters now is the Cup."
