Zalgiris take Euro
glory

Lithuanian side Zalgiris Kaunas stunned
holders Kinder Bologna in this year's Euro League Final in Munich,
winning 82-74.
The unfancied Baltic Sea outfit have been
the revelation of the season, and their rise to the summit of European
club basketball was achieved with some brilliant play from their mix of
American and domestic talent. Bologna fell behind 45-30 at half time, primarily
due to Zalgiris' prowess from the three point line. Although the Italians
rallied to close within six points at 76-70 with three minutes to play,
they were unable to retain their trophy by the finish.
Ex-NBAer Anthony Bowie led the Lithuanian's
balanced offense on 14 points while Bologna's French international Antoine
Rigadeau topped all scorers on 27.
Greek giants Olympiakos took third spot
after defeating Teamsystem Bologna 74-63.
