Conlan leads Sharks
to consolation prize
27 points from Travis Conlan ensured that
Sheffield Sharks ended their magnificent campaign with a victory, the Yorkshiremen
picking up third spot at the Budweiser Championships with a 98-88 result
over Manchester Giants at Wembley.
Giants led 79-83 in the final period, but
back to back threes from Conlan and League MVP Terrell Myers sparked a
17-0 Sharks stretch. With two minutes left, there was no way back for Manchester
and Sheffield finally ended their barren Wembley run.
