Sheffield
tipped off the pool stages of this season's BBL Trophy with a 75-93 victory
at last year's beaten finalists Newcastle Eagles on Friday.
The visitors led
for much of the match - ahead 41-47 at half-time - but it wasn't
until the third quarter that they broke the Newcastle resistance. Sharks
scored twice as many points as their hosts to lead 67-51 going into the
final period. Eagles were without the injured Fab Flournoy (knee).
Nate Reinking led
the Sharks with 20, bettered only by Malcolm Leak's 26.
