Newcastle
Eagles came from behind to defeat Milton Keynes Lions 88-84 in group B
of the BBL Trophy on Friday night.
Despite leading after
the first quarter, Lions enjoyed strong second and third quarters and Tony
Garbelotto's Eagles trailed 67-76 heading into the fourth quarter.
Eagles proceeded
to outscore the Lions 21-8 in that final period to take their first win
in the BBL Trophy this season and rise to joint second in Group B.
TJ Walker, who led
all scorers with 23 points, iced the win for the Eagles with two foul shots
in the dying seconds. Lions' player/coach, Nigel Lloyd, added 21 points
for the visitors.
