Edinburgh Rocks closed the gap to Leicester Riders by winning one of their games in hand after they knocked off third placed Newcastle Eagles 97-79 on Tyneside.

The game was fairly tight in the first half - Newcastle led 23-22 after the first but Edinburgh were three up at the break. The Rocks doubled their lead in the third and in the final period Roy Gardner stepped up and the Eagles, without the injured Malcolm Leak, couldn't muster a comeback. 

Gardner and Brendan Graves led all scorers with 22, but three other players also topped 20 points.
