went top of their group in the NEBL Open, after defeating Polish side Polonia
Warbud 96-92 in Warsaw on Tuesday evening. Polonia edged the first half,
leading by eight points at one point in the second quarter, before Towers
fought back to trail by just one point at half-time at 52-51.
A tense second half
ensued and with 30 seconds remaining Towers led by one point. However a
Brett Eppehimer three pointer on the buzzer sealed the victory for Towers
in suitably thrilling fashion. John White was the Towers' top scorer with
20 personal points, a tally equalled by Polonia's Walter Jeklin.
