Pertemps Bullets Birmingham pulled off a stunning result to move to 2-0 in the first group stage of this season's NEBL after a 88-83 defeat of Ukrainian giants Kiev on Tuesday at Aston Villa.

Bullets - who included Antonio Garcia but played without Rashod Johnson - started slowly but gradually pulled back in the second quarter, holding their guests in check at 40-41 at half-time before ultimately, Rob Paternostro sealed the victory from the strip with three seconds remaining.

Brant Bailey fired a game-best 30 points for the hosts with Paternostro adding 18..

Bullets now take on Russian side Samara on Wednesday night. The guests were dealt a 20-0 defeat in their scheduled tie against Pepinster on Monday after technical problems forced its cancellation.
