Big Al's Notre Dame v Dart Killester
Killester welcomed back coach Mark Ingle after his ill-fated diversion to Manchester on Saturday night but Notre Dame very nearly put another big dent in his side's title aspirations.  However a slam-dunk from Chris Davis on the buzzer rescued Killester and with 7 wins from their last 8 games, the title defenders are still very much in the running.

Dart Killester took an early lead, stretching ahead 14-4 with six minutes gone.  After a slow start, Big Al's came into the game with Anthony Jenkins and Brandon Hughes doing it all for the home team.  The first quarter ended 23-28, in favour of Killester.

The second quarter was nip and tuck all the way, with Big Al's taking the
lead for the first time midway through the period.  However Killester
brought it back and held their 5-point lead, going into half-time 50-45.

Killester came into the second half on fire and upped the tempo throughout the third quarter.  Big Al's could do little to stop the deep Killester bench, with John Quigley and Chris Davis in particular, outstanding for the visiting team.  Big Al's were stunned as Killester pulled further and further away, outscoring Jenks and his team 15-25 in the third quarter. Killester led 75-60 at the end of the third period.

Big Al's shot their way back into the third quarter with big 3-pointers from Jenkins, Hughes and Camera.  The game tied 89-89 with 27 seconds on the clock.  Big Al's took possession, but a series of bad plays  forced Jenkins into taking a shot to avoid a 24-second violation.  Chris Davis blocked the shot and with 3-seconds remaining, took off down the court and slam-dunked to win the game for Killester, 91-89.

Sx3 Star v Neptune
Sx3 Star were lucky to come away with a victory when they hosted Neptune on Sunday to pick up their third win of the entire season.  Although the game was scrappy in its entirety, it was close all the way.  Neptune travelled with only seven players, and did well to win the first quarter 23-19, with Charron Watson inspiring for the Cork men.

The second quarter was basket for basket, with Star upping the pace.  John Leahy played his second game of the season with Star, doing well to top score on 22-points for the team.  Star pushed ahead to take the lead going into half time, 38-36.

Star looked to be in trouble at the beginning of the third quarter when Mervin Dixon picked up his fourth foul and sat out the remainder of the period.  However, Gareth Maguire and Scott Summersgill upped their game and Neptune were unable to take too much advantage.  The visiting team did outscore Star in the third quarter leading 65-61 going into the last ten minutes.

Point-guard Adrian Fulton has been quiet for Star this season and until the closing seconds of the last period, he remained scoreless.  A foul on Fulton under the baskets gave him two free throws, hitting 2/2 to give Star an 82-79 lead.  With four seconds remaining and possession to Neptune, the game's top-scorer Charron Watson hit a basket for the Cork team, but a 2-pointer was not enough and Star took a one-point victory 82-81.

Esat Business Demons v St Vincent's
A shocking 83-63 result for Vincent's who got hammered by Demons when they travelled to Cork on Sunday.  The usually reliable, David Donnelly and Stephen McGuirk did little to lift the Vincent's side and they returned to Dublin with their tales between their legs.  Back in October, Vincent's had a 15-point home victory (85-70) over Demons.

The first quarter was basket for basket with Demons leading at the end of the period, 19-17, a lead they were not to lose for the remainder of the game.

It was the second quarter that marked the demise of St Vincent's with John Estick and Mark Kennedy all over Vincent's players.  Demons were outstanding defensively and kept Trimmer and Richardson relatively low scoring.  At 39-27 going into half time, Vincent's could have come back but three minutes
into the third quarter and the home team had it wrapped up.  The third quarter finished 63-39.

Mike Trimmer fouled out in the last quarter, at which stage it was to make little difference for Vincent's.  The final score, 83-63.

Bausch & Lomb Wildcats v Sasha Meteors
Wildcats again lined out without team captain, Christine Kiely and inside player Helen McSweeney. This was an exciting contes t before a large crowd at the Oznam St. venue.  Wildcats had a tentative start and were 7-points down at the end of the first quarter thanks to some wonderful basketball from Karen Hennessey who was the games top scorer on 26 points. Wildcats tightened their defence in the second quarter and made Meteors work very hard for every score from then to the end. Wildcats led by 1 point, 37-36 at half time. Catriona White and Michelle Maguire were in fine shooting form, scoring 22 and 21 points respectively.  Seventeen 3-pointers were scored in the game including an incredible seven in a row in the third quarter. The final quarter saw Wildcats in control, as Meteors seemed to tire, ending in a ten-point victory for Waterford 76-66.
