Turks burn out London

Ülker Istanbul 107 (28, 54, 84) (Pars 28, Yildirim 14, Pachula 12)
Kinder London Towers 64 (15, 30, 46) (Kent 15, White 14, Robbins 13)

Kinder London Towers opened their Euroleague campaign with a 107-64 thrashing at the hands of Turkish Champions, Ülker Istanbul.

Ülker didn’t give the Towers a minute’s breathing room. The hosts jumped ahead 28-15 after one quarter, 54-30 at the half and hit a 40-point lead, 74-33 in the middle of the third quarter.

Impressive centre Asim Pars finished with 28 points to lead all scorers. He also pulled seven rebounds for Ülker.  For Towers, Jeff Kent top scored with 15 points. John White added 14 and Stuart Robbins netted 13.

"To play against such a loud fans, always chanting like they were tonight, I think it intimidated my players some,” commented Towers Head Coach, Lino Frattin.

“We let them play their game right away. We know that Ülker is a good team, at the top in Turkey, and that it would be hard to beat them at home. We have to forget about this game and think about the future of what we can do in this league. I hope we will see improvement from now on."
