Zalgiris spoil Lindstrom debut

Dave Lindstrom's debut as coach of London Towers ended in defeat on Thursday night with the BBL outfit crashing to a 58-81 defeat to Zalgiris Kaunas at Crystal Palace in the Euroleague.

Like his predecessor Lino Frattin,  Lindstrom - appointed in charge on Tuesday - was unable to find a way to break Towers European hoodoo as the Londoners slipped to a 0-7 record in the competition.

The Lithuanians - part-owned by ex-NBA star Arvydas Sabonis - led from start to finish, a late 9-2 run the first quarter putting them 14-21 in front.

Towers never recovered, coming only as close as four in the second period thanks to a flurry from Terrell Myers,

Up 33-41 at half-time, the 1999 European champions proved too powerful from outside for their hosts to wrap up their second win in the Euroleague.

Brett Eppehimer led Towers on 14 while Zalgiris guard notched Tomas Masiulis a game-best 16.
