Towers crash to Barcelona
London Towers' faltering Euroleague took
another ignominous turn on Thursday night when Lino Frattin's team suffered
a 67-99 loss at the hands of Catalan giants Barcelona at Crystal Palace.
The Londoner's fourth successive defeat
in the competition came after they pushed their storied guests until
the third quarter but were unable to withstand a late barrage from the
former champions.
After conceding the first seven points
of the game, Towers trailed only 20-11 at the end of the first quarter
and reduced that deficit to three points with a pair of free throws from
American forward Robert Youngblood.
But that was as good as it got as the Spanish
side improved to 2-2.
