Frankfurt keep Towers pointless

Frankfurt Skyliners (GER) 61 (16,33,49) (Stanescu 16, Goree 15, Lokhmanchuk 10)
Kinder London Towers 57 (16,31,40) (White/Myers 13, Cheung 10)

Kinder London Towers came close to breaking their Euroleague duck on Thursday night but fell to a narrow 61-57 defeat in a tense game with German Bundesliga team Frankfurt Skyliners.

After a close first quarter, Towers stole ahead with a 9-3 start to the second quarter to lead 25-19. Skyliners hit back with 12 straight points, before a Terrell Myers three pointer stopped the rot and Towers trailed by
just two points at half-time. A 12-2 tear by the Germans in the third quarter gave Skyliners an 11-point advantage at 49-38, but eight unanswered Towers points midway through the fourth quarter brought the Towers back into the game.

A tense final two minutes saw Towers get to within two points at 55-52, but Ukrainian, Alex Lokhmanchuk made the result safe for Skyliners with the final bucket. Towers scoring was led by John White and Terrell Myers, who each bagged 13 points each.

In other Group B games,  Union Olimpija Ljubljana beat Zalgiris Kaunas 87-66, Euroleague, Kinder Bologna overcame Ulker Istanbul 68-60 while Barcelona were upset 73-77 at home by Peristeri.
