Myers blast fails to save Towers blushes

Kinder London Towers were unable to pull off a massive upset in Spain and went down 101-63 against mighty FC Barcelona in their latest Euroleague hiding.

American centre Ted Allen marked his debut for Towers in Spain with eight points. The 6'10" pivot was cleared to replace veteran John White in the line-up. White's ongoing status with the club is unclear but he is expected to be released.

Allen, aged 30 years old, played college basketball at Nevada Las Vegas and Colorado University. He has also played in the CBA with Rockford Lightning.

In Spain, a 10-2 run in the first quarter had the home side 27-10 just before the first break. It was always going to be too much to ask of the Towers to come back from there and Barcelona continued to pull away.

Terrell Myers with 33 led the Towers charge with over half his team's points.

Sarunas Jasikevicius led the blaugrana with 16.
