Derby Storm
upset the form book with an impressive 101-86 success at home to Kinder
London Towers in the BBL Championship on Saturday night, only a second
league win for the Northern Conference whipping boys.
Derby bagged an early
7-0 run, helping them to a 25-19 first quarter lead. They extended their
lead in the second quarter to as many as ten points at 38-28, but Towers
fought back in the third and an 11-1 run brought them back to within two
points at 58-56.
That was to be as
close as Towers got, as Derby hit back with an 8-2 tear to lead 66-58 and
although Towers cut the deficit again - this time to three points at 72-69,
it was to be Derby's day.
Brett Eppehimer led
Towers' scoring with 19 points, while Tyler Peterson was the game's leading
scorer with 23.
