Chester Jets are just one win away from claiming the BBL Championship Northern Conference title, following Sunday evening's 94-77 victory over Newcastle Eagles. However the quadruple chasers will be without James Hamilton for the rest of the season after the American was instructed to undergo ankle surgery to correct a long-term injury.

In front of a sell-out Northgate Arena crowd, Jets edged the first quarter 20-18, before starting the second period with an 8-2 tear. A second 8-2 burst later in the quarter gave Jets a 43-21 advantage, although Eagles cut the deficit to 49-37 by half-time. Jets led by as many as 17 points in the third at 68-51 and when the started the final quarter with the first seven point, the result was safe for Chester. Without Hamilton, John McCord stepped up and led their scoring with 30 personal points; TJ Walker added 23 for Newcastle.
 

Brighton Bears 80 (20,38,53) (Farrington 19, Davis 18, White/Brown 12)
Edinburgh Rocks 63 (10,19,35) (Berry 29, Graves 15, Gaines 8)

Brighton Bears' Southern Conference title aspirations were boosted by an 80-63 success over Edinburgh Rocks on Sunday evening. Bears enjoyed a 14-4 first quarter tear, helping them to a 20-10 advantage after the first period of play. That lead was extended when Brighton scored the first eight points of the second quarter to put them 28-10 ahead. Rocks reduced the arrear n the third quarter as Ted Berry bagged 11 points as Rocks pulled the score back to 47-35, but Brighton re- established their dominance with a 15-2 fourth quarter run. Rodger Farrington led Bears' scoring with 19 points, but Ted Berry was the game's leading scorer with 29 personal points. His team still require a win from their last two games to ensure a play-off berth.

Kinder London Towers 111 (41,66,88) (Myers 31, White/Eppehimer 17)
Thames Valley Tigers 103 (26,60,88) (Jamison 28, Robinson 16, Martin 13)

Kinder London Towers maintained their charge for the BBL Championship Southern Conference title with a 111-103 success over Thames Valley Tigers on Sunday evening. Towers got off to a great start, with a staggering 41 points in the first quarter alone to Tigers' 26 points. Tigers fought back to cut the deficit to just six points at half-time at 66-60 and cut the gap still further in the third - a buzzer-beating basket from Eric Burks levelling the score at 88-88 heading into the fourth quarter.

Towers' star guard, Terrell Myers, scored two important three pointers in a 12-0 burst to re-
establish Towers' lead and although Tigers cut the gap back to five points at 106-101, they could get no closer. The result leaves Tigers out of the race for the play-offs. Terrell Myers led all scorers with 31 points; Shawn Jamison added 28 for Tigers.
 

Milton Keynes Lions 106 (28,50,84) (Siemon/Lloyd 31/Brown 21)
Pertemps Bullets Birmingham 98 (22,44,70) (Johnson 30, Bailey 20, O'Connell 18)

Milton Keynes Lions jumped ahead of Pertemps Bullets Birmingham into the final play-off spot in the BBL Championship Southern Conference thanks to a 106-98 win over the Midlands outfit on Sunday afternoon. Bullets were without American point guard Rob Paternostro because of an elbow injury but Bullets started strongly with the first nine points of the game. Lions hit back with 16 unanswered points to lead 28-22 after the first quarter. Lions maintained their advantage in an even second quarter, before taking control in the third with a 13-0 burst. 

Bullets rallied in the fourth to cut the deficit to seven points at 99-92, but could get no closer. Lions' player/coach Nigel Lloyd bagged a game-high 31 points, as did team-mate Jason Siemon, who also bagged 17 rebounds to complete a memorable double double. Rashod Johnson added 30 points for Bullets.

The result also put Leopards through to the play-offs.

Kinder London Towers 98 (19,46,74) (Myers 27, Eppehimer 24, White 20)

Kinder London Towers moved within one victory of the BBL Championship Southern
Conference after a nailbiting 98-87 victory over the DG London Leopards Kool Kats.

After a tight first half the Towers took control with a 13-3 burst either side of the third quarter break to take control at 80-67 early in the final stanza. Leopards Rico Alderson continued his rich vein of form with 27 points but could not prevent the Towers from taking the crucial two points.
