Walker in range as Eagles take OT win

Westfield Sharks Sheffield 110 (33,54,81) (Phoenix 24, Payne 20, Cauthorn 18)

Newcastle Eagles came from behind to defeat Northern Conference rivals Westfield Sharks Sheffield 111-110 after overtime in a thrilling encounter.  Sheffield led for the majority of the game, and were ahead by as many as 20 in the third period.  In the final quarter, Newcastle stormed back with an 11-0 to take the lead for the first time 85-83.  Newcastle led by 5 in  the final minute, but a Peter Scantlebury three-pointer on the buzzer took the game into overtime with the scores tied at 97-97.  

Nate Reinking hit a three-pointer with 5 seconds remaining, but missed the 'and 1', and TJ
Walker went 'coast to coast' to secure the win for the Eagles.  Walker and Shawn Myers led all scorers with 30 points, and Justin Phoenix led the Sharks scoring with 24.  

Pertemps Bullets Birmingham 71 (14,39,57) (Bailey 20, Paternostro 19, Johnson 16)
Leopards 88 (31,49,67) (Robinson 23, Dantzler 16, Kimbrough 14)

Leopards close the gap on Milton Keynes Lions in fourth place of the Southern
Conference with a 88-71 victory over the Pertemps Bullets Birmingham.  Leopards took control from the start and closed out the first quarter with a 20-4 run to take the score to 31-14, and never relinquished the lead.  

Birmingham got to within five points in the third period, but could not reverse the deposit.  Leopards closed out the game with a 10-4 run to secure the victory.  Maurice
Robinson led all scorers with 23 points for the Leopards, while Brant Bailey scored a team-high 20 for the Bullets.

Brighton Bears 85 (17,30,53) (Davis 21, White 15, Farrington 14)
Kinder London Towers 73 (15,37,60) (Eppehimer 27, Allen/Myers/White/Robbins 8)

Brighton Bears closed the gap to six points in the Southern Conference of the BBL Championship with a 85-73 victory over the Conference leaders Kinder London Towers.  A close game throughout with the Towers staying ahead by seven points throughout the second and third quarters.  

However, Brighton stormed back in the final period, with a 15-5 and 9-0 tears, with Roger Farrington scoring 12 points,  took the score out to 79-70, and ultimately picked up the victory.  Brett Eppehimer led all scorers with a 27 point haul for the Towers, while Sterling Davis scored 21 for the Bears.

Derby Storm 78 (15,35,57) (Griffin 29, Miller/Kennedy 14)
Edinburgh Rocks 76 (15,36,55) (Gardner 18, Berry 17, Gaines/Gardner 15)

Derby Storm picked up their third victory in all competitions thanks to a 78-76 victory over
Northern Conference rivals Edinburgh Rocks.  A tight game throughout saw Edinburgh leading 74-72 with 2:36 remaining in the final quarter, Kevin Griffin hit back to back baskets to put Derby ahead 76-74.  Danny Hildreth then made a free throw with 30 seconds remaining.  Roy Gardner then got the Rocks to within a point, but Jemar Miller seal the victory from the foul line.  Griffin led all scorers with 29 points for the Storm, while Gardner led the Rocks scoring with 18.
