Thames Valley Tigers extended their lead to four points at the top of the BBL Championship
Southern Conference with a 101-96 victory over their closest rivals, Kinder London Towers, on Saturday night.

The Tigers broke the game open early doors with a 17-2 burst to take control at 39-25 midway through the second quarter. The Towers came back strongly and after a 13-3 burst trimmed the lead to just a single point on two occasions in the final stanza. However former Tower Eric Burks rattled off 5 of the final 7 points of the game for the Tigers, on his way to a game high 31 points, to seal a tense victory for his side.
 

BBL Trophy - Group Stages

Derby Storm 76 (23,32,49) (Griffin 16, Balser 14, Miller 13)
Chester Jets 91 (17,45,63) (Daivs 25, Cameron 20, Hamilton 18)

Chester Jets secured their place in the BBL Trophy quarter finals maitaining their 100% record in the competition, defeating the Derby Storm 91-76 on Saturday night, a result which bagged a franchise-record ninth straight win for Robbie Peers' club.

The Storm started the brighter leading 23-17 after the first stanza but had no answer as the Jets started the 2nd quarter with a 16-2 burst to take a 33-25, a lead which they would never relinquish. Jets Calvin Davis led all scorers with 25 points, Kevin Griffin  had 16 for the Storm.

Edinburgh Rocks 82 (20,42,70) (Berry 32, Graves 17, Gaines 15)
Westfield Sharks Sheffield 83 (20,36,62) (Reinking 25, Phoenix 18, Payne 10)

Westfield Sharks Sheffield bounced back from a disappointing run of form to all but book their place in the BBL Trophy quarter finals with a nailbiting 83-82 success over the Edinburgh Rocks on Saturday night.

After leading for the most of the game Rocks Ted Berry looked to have scored the winning basket putting his side 82-80 in front with just 7s remaining. Sharks immediately called a time out and it was Englishman Mike Payne who bagged the game winning three pointer with just 1s remaining from an assist from Justin Phoenix.

Leicester Riders 83 (18,32,58) (J Brown 25, Blalock 18, New 12)
Brighton Bears 101 (26,50,78) (Duck 29, Brown 21, Davis 17)

Brighton Bears made sure they qualified for the BBL Trophy Quarter Finals on Saturday night defeating the winless Leicester Riders 101-83 in Leicester.

The Riders rushed in to an early 10-2 lead but had no answer as Mike Brown drained 4 of the Bears 6 in total first quarter three pointers to take a 26-18 lead. When the Bears started the 2nd quarter with a 9-0 burst the Riders could find no way back. Randy Duck produced a game high 29 points for the Bears while Riders, missing Tim Moore through injury, 
were led by Ralph Blalock's 25 points.
