Milton Keynes
Lions secured a memorable home win on the opening day of the season, beating
Thames Valley Tigers 76-80 in Bracknell.
It was the perfect
result for new Head Coach Nigel Lloyd, not to mention, Jason Siemon, who
was returning to his old club for the first time. Siemon netted 15
points, while team-mate Andrew Alleyne
bagged 17 - 15 in
the first half alone - as Lions led 41-34 at half time.
Thames Valley did
not make it easy, however, with a 12-0 run overlapping the third and fourth
quarters and taking the game down to the wire. But Paul James' men, led
by 19 points from Greg Meldrum, could not pull it off.
