Chester Jets kept
joint top spot in the BBL Championship Northern Conference by virtue of
this 82-78 success over Milton Keynes Lions at the Northgate Arena. Lions
led 23-21 early in the second quarter and although never far behind, they
never led again. Jets led by as many as ten points in the second quarter,
but Lions hit an 11-3 third-quarter run to trail by just 59-52. Lions got
even closer than that, before a 12-4 final quarter run by the hometown
Jets, which sealed the victory. James Hamilton bagged a game-high 30 points
for the Jets, while Lions' player/coach Nigel Lloyd netted 23.

Westfield Sharks
Sheffield maintained their charge for the Northern Conference title of
the BBL Championship with a 108-94 win over Nurishment Leicester Riders
on Sunday afternoon. Sharks dominated from the first quarter and steadily
built up a 64-44 lead by the start of the third quarter. However, Riders
fought back in the third and an 8-1 run closed out the quarter with the
deficit reduced to 76-67. But, Sharks re-established themselves in the
fourth period - a 9-0 tear giving them an 88-71 lead that they would not
surrender. Terrell Myers led all scorers with 25 points, including five
of seven three-point attempts. Sharks' team-mate, Zac Bennett added 19
points and 14 rebounds, while Larry Johnson was the Riders' top marksman
with 22 points.
