Sheffield
made the most of home court advantage to defeat the visiting Brighton Bears
90-63 in the BBL Championship on Sunday, a win which combined with Chester's
loss to Birmingham puts the Sharjs four points clear in the Northern table.
Chris Finch's men
stamped their authority on the game early, with a 17-2 start to the game
and they kept the lead for the rest of the game. Their advantage was steadily
extended as the game progressed, with Englishman, Iain McKinney producing
the biggest points haul for Sharks with 19 points.
Despite the result,
Bears can be happy with the performance of Wilbur Johnson, who bagged a
game-high 21 points and pulled down nine rebounds on his first return to
Yorkshire since his departure last summer.
