Basketball Scotland has announced the signing of a three-year agreement with the Royal Bank of Scotland for the sponsorship of school basketball.
The immediate effect of this will be support for this year’s Scottish Schools Cup Finals, which take place at Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh from Wednesday 14th to 16th March and the annual Inter-Area Tournament.
Rodger Thompson, Chief Executive of basketballscotland was delighted at the development.
“Scottish Schools basketball has received a significant boost through the Royal Bank coming on board. The Royal Bank of Scotland Cup and Inter-Area Tournament will be high quality events that are staged as the premiere fixtures within the Secondary Schools basketball calendar.
"This is indeed a real step forward for Scottish basketball”.
Allan Turner, Chairman of the Scottish Schools Basketball Association added: “No sport can survive and develop to its full potential in today’s world unless backed by willing sponsors.
"We are excited that the Royal Bank of Scotland share our vision for the future of basketball within Scottish schools.
"The association welcomes the Royal Bank on court and knows that together we can promote and assist future stars of the game in Scotland to achieve their dreams.”
