Maroussi triumph in Final

MVP: Vasko Evtimov (7 points, 18 rebounds).Maroussi became the 6th Greek team ever to lift a European trophy when they beat French side Elan Chalon 74-72 in the Saporta Cup final in warsaw.
Point guard Sotiris Nikolaidis made two priceless free throws 11 seconds before the buzzer and his teammates harassed Chalon players into a non-shooting last possession. Chalon never led inb the first half but came back from 15 points behind (55-40) to tie the final 15.8 seconds from time with a three-point by Andre Owens.
More than 500 Maroussi fans travelled to Poland for the final. They celebrated the victory with fireworks while coach Vangelis Alexandris talked of "a historic moments" and his players sang the national anthem in mid-court.
