Sheffield breach Eagles home defence

Fortress Tyneside has finally been breached.

Westfield Sharks Sheffield extended their lead over Chester Jets at the top of the Northern
Conference to four points with an 69-87 win at Natural Flow Newcastle Eagles on Friday a result which killed off the sole perfect home record in the BBL.

Down 38-43 at half-time, the hosts put up a strong third quarter by the home side to re-take the lead

However Sheffield bagged 22 of the 31 fourth quarter points to clinch the victory against a Newcastle side which was again without injured forward Tony Windless.

Andrew Mavis led all scorers with 21 for the Eagles, whilst Sheffield's backcourt duo of Nate Reinking and Terrell Myers shared 34 points.
