Eagles won their sixth game in a row and maintained the only
unbeaten home record
in the BBL with an 94-84 victory over the Northern Conference leaders,
Chester Jets on Friday.
Donnie Johnson bagged
ten of a 15-2 tear by the Eagles around the first quarter break to open
up a 30-23 advantage. The American forward also hit nine of his 22 points
in the third period as Newcastle padded their lead. The Eagles led 85-67
before a 10-1 tear by the Jets trimmed the margin of defeat.
Chester's Loren Meyer
led all scorers with 31 while Donnie Johnson hit a team-best 22 for the
Eagles.
