Towers dominate in Poland

London Towers cruised to a second NEBL victory in as many days with a comfortable 72-92 victory at Polonia Warbud in Poland.

It took only 8 minutes for the vistors to build a 20-point advantage. The score was 4-24 for London with 2 minutes remaining till the end of the first quarter. The WARBUD players tried to improve with several three-point attempts – Leszek Karwowski scored two 3-pointers in a row, but London was still ahead by 17-32 after Eric Taylor hit a beat the-buzzer- three.

Nothing changed on the court in the second quarter. The English players were faster, and their
actions were well prepared. They were dominating the boards, while the Polish team had some foul
problems – Leszek Karwowski committed his 4th foul in the 5th minute of the 2nd quarter and was
replaced by Michal Polanowski.

The BBL outfit were ahead by 22 points when the half-time horn was heard in the Torwar arena. The main reason for the Londoners’ domination was the outside scoring. By the end of the first half they had already hit 78% of 3-pointers, and over 50% of 2-point shots.

At the beginning of the second half there was some hope left in the home spectators’ hearts.
Robert Pacocha and Jarrod Gee started their scoring performance. Former Brighton favourite Jan Trojanowski made a huge two- handed dunk and was fouled. Yet it didn’t last very long. Afterwards both the teams faced some problems in scoring. The English team continued dominating for the rest of the game and finally won easily

Towers chief Nick Nurse was delighted at his team's double victory on their trip to Central Europe.

"There were three most important things today: the very first one was the start of the game; second - that we shot the ball from outside extremely well; and the third – we used to get to the free throw line very often. It was a huge amount for the team on the road. We played very well for some reasons. We moved the ball very well, we defended well. It was a good game for us."

Towers scoring was spread with Kendrick Warren, Randy Duck and Taylor all netting 17 points.
