Towers won a thrilling NEBL encounter 73-79 in overtime against Kiev in
the Ukraine on Monday in the Londoner's best result against continental
opposition this term.
Behind by six points
with 45 seconds remaining, Towers shooting guard, Eric Burks hit a three
pointer to reduce the deficit to three. Towers forced a turnover in the
dying seconds, and Burks was on hand again to
sink another three
to tie the match and force overtime.
Towers made the decisive
run and ran out eventual winners to record their third NEBL victory.
Randy Duck top scored
for Towers with 19 points. Eric Taylor, Kendrick Warren and Burks all added
10 points. Tom Wideman pulled in 9 rebounds.
