Thunder face Raid as Hatters set up Cup re-match

Worthing Thunder erased their six point deficit from the first leg of the NBL Conference Play Offs to beat Teesside Mohawks for a place at Wembley on the 5th May. Worthing will join Plymouth Raiders who also came back from a first leg deficit to beat Manchester Magic by just 7 points.

Oxford Devils eased into the final of the NBL Division One Men final extending their aggregate victory over Cardiff Clippers to 26 points. Kingston Wildcats watched as Reading Rockets turned a small two point advantage into 20 points for the chance to play Division One Winners, Oxford in the final.

In a re-run of the Women’s National Cup, Rhondda Rebels will play Sheffield Hatters at Wembley. Hatters had a great weekend, as well as making it to Wembley, a victory for the Juniors in the RAF Final Fours was the icing on the cake. Rhondda will have to work hard to deny Sheffield the revenge they will be seeking after their National Cup defeat earlier this season.

The NBL Division Two Play Offs see the top two teams in the final. Ealing Tornados had a similar weekend to Hatters as their Junior Men took the RAF Final Fours Title. Ealing will be hoping they can share the season’s Division Two honours by betting league winners Derbyshire Arrows on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, the NBL Division Three final will see Bristol Bombers play Barking & Dagenham. Barking beat Worcester Wolves by just two points, 69 – 67 having already upset Thames Valley Tigers in the quarters. The U20 play off final and an exhibition game involved England U15 men will also by part of Saturday’s programme. All the games will take place at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield from 12 noon.
