Plymouth extend Conference lead
Coventry Crusaders 86-71 Solent Stars
Coventry Crusaders moved up to joint second place in the NBL Conference with a hard earned win over Solent. The Crusaders led 49 - 33 at half time and
maintained their advantage to finish with a 15 point winning margin.
Top scorers for the Crusaders were Matt Collins with 30, including six
three-pointers, and Derrick Pope with 16. For Solent Toby Tripalin scored 27
whilst Chris Harper hit 15.Coventry Coach, Dip Donaldson said: "We deserved the points tonight. We came out strong and kept the tempo going throughout the game."
Solent chief, Mark Scott was disappointed.
"Our play this season has been very inconsistent but we're striving to gel and get the formula right and will keep on working towards that goal."
Plymouth Raiders 71-67 Inter-Basket London
Plymouth Raiders moved two points clear at the top of the NBL Conference with a hard earned win over Inter-Basket. The Raiders led 33 - 30 at half time but as the fourth quarter began, they trailed by 11 before a 19-0 run took them
to victory. Top scorers for the Raiders were Terry Durham with 21, and Todd Cetnar with 17. For Inter-Basket Rodney Alexander scored 18 whilst Franck Batimba hit 14.Plymouth Coach, Gary Stronach said: "That was really hard work, we let them
get ahead in the third quarter but all credit to the team for their superb
final quarter performance."Inter-Basket Coach, Joe White said: "We're very disappointed. We were on a
high after the Trophy semi final win last night and took control of the game
in the third quarter. Perhaps we were just a bit too tired at the end."
Manchester Magic 89-79 Sutton Pumas
Manchester Magic notched up their second NBL Conference win of the season with a hard earned win over Sutton. Magic led 40 - 26 at half time and
maintained their advantage to finish with a 10 point winning margin.
Top scorers for the Magic were Alan Duppa with 19 and Jon Linsley with 16.
For the Pumas Gareth Laws hit 35 and Alan Hopper 13.Manchester Coach, Jeff Jones said: "We deserved the points tonight. We came out strong and kept the tempo going throughout the game."
Sutton Coach, Jim Walsh said: "We're very disappointed. Our play this season has been very inconsistent but we're striving to gel and get the formula right and will keep on working towards that goal."
