Lloyd keeps Lions rampant

Milton Keynes Lions defeated Thames Valley Tigers 86-76 in the BBL Championship on Sunday afternoon to go further clear in second place in the Southern table.

Lions led from early on in the first quarter and although Tigers kept the game close in the first half, the home side pulled away in the third quarter thanks to a 13-0 tear. The closest that Thames Valley could get in the final period was at 74-65, as Lions eased to their third win in the last four games.

Andrew Alleyne was back from a knee injury to play for the Lions, but it was player/coach Nigel Lloyd, who impressed most with 20 points for the Lions.

Tigers' John McCord led all scorers, with 27 points.
