Milton Keynes
Lions were celebrating on two fronts tonight, as they defeated Manchester
Giants 83-80 in the BBL Championship and saw veteran player, Leon Noel
make his 467th all-time appearance.
That put Noel into
second place in the all-time list - only Sheffield's Peter Scantlebury
has played in more games in British basketball. Meanwhile, in tonight's
game, it was a 17-0 tear in the fourth quarter which gave the Lions the
win. Lions had been trailing 52-64 early in the fourth, but turned that
into a five point lead and then increased it out to 11 at 78-67.
Giants fought back
but could not do enough to get the win. Andrew Alleyne top scored with
22 points for the Lions.
