Leopards open up gap over Lions

London Leopards opened up a gap between themselves and the Lions in second place in the
Southern Conference with their third victory of the year over Nigel Lloyd's men, winning 84-88.

Leopards started brighter with the opening eight points of the game and when Milton Keynes came back in the second quarter, Leopards hit six without reply to go into the locker room with a seven
point cushion at 42-49.

Merrill Brunson sparked a 10-2 tear by the Lions to close out the third quarter with a one-point lead and the game remained close until the dying seconds.

Andrew Alleyne put the home side 81-80 up inside the final minute, but Leopards secured the win with six free throws without reply, Rico Alderson the primary catalyst with game-best 28 points.

Jason Siemon led the hosts with 24.
