London Leopards
opened up a gap between themselves and the Lions in second place in the
Southern Conference
with their third victory of the year over Nigel Lloyd's men, winning 84-88.
Leopards started
brighter with the opening eight points of the game and when Milton Keynes
came back in the second quarter, Leopards hit six without reply to go into
the locker room with a seven
point cushion at
42-49.
Merrill Brunson sparked
a 10-2 tear by the Lions to close out the third quarter with a one-point
lead and the game remained close until the dying seconds.
Andrew Alleyne put
the home side 81-80 up inside the final minute, but Leopards secured the
win with six free throws without reply, Rico Alderson the primary catalyst
with game-best 28 points.
Jason Siemon led
the hosts with 24.
