Bullets Birmingham maintained a 100% record with their second win in as
many days, this time a 68-78 success at Milton Keynes Lions.
So, there was no
dream result for Nigel Lloyd, against his old club, although it was a very
close game, which saw Bullets’ only really pull ahead to a significant
margin in the closing minutes. There were only two points in it at half-time,
as Bullets led 41-39, but by the end of the next quarter, it was Lions
who led by two at 55-53.
A 9-3 run to close
the game by Bullets saw them win more comfortably than had looked likely
earlier in the game. Andrew Alleyne put up stiff resistance for the home
side, with a game-high 23 points, while Chris Watson was again the Bullets’
top marksman with 19 points to his name.
"Sunday's game saw
a lot of tired legs, but we got it done" declared Bullets coach Lance Randall.
"Our guys fought and we had so many guys step up."
