Tony Garboletto
was once an ambitious assistant coach under Kevin Cadle at London Towers.
Returning for the
first time on as the head coach of the Newcastle Eagles, Garboletto watched
his present team lose 106-96 on Wednesday to the Londonders .
The late arrival
of the visitors delayed the start of the match after the Eagles had got
stuck in traffic .
But it didn't seem
to affect their play - they still scored 28 points in the first quarter,
but Towers were always just one step ahead of them and built up a ten-points
lead by half-time at 64-54.
It was an advantage
that Towers maintained for the most part, although Eagles got back to within
three points in the third quarter. Towers built their lead back up and
hung on for the win.
Randy Duck led all
scorers with 26 for the Towers; Tony Windless scored 23 for Newcastle.
