London Towers
strengthened their grip of top spot in the Southern Conference with a hard
fought 96-87 victory over the Derby Storm.
Nick Nurse's side,
who resume their NEBL chase on Monday at home to CSKA Moscow, led 34-23
after a quarter and looked comfortably in front entering the fourth period.
Ex-Towers star Barry
Bowman was the man trying to stop the party rattling off 16 final quarter
points on his way to a game high 29 points against his former team as the
Storm cut Towers lead to just 4 late on at 84-80.
The hosts however
- led by Kendrick Warren's 23 points - just had enough in reserve
to secure the
victory.
