Leopards
secured the runners-up place in the BBL Championship Southern Conference
with a 96-84 success
at home to Thames Valley Tigers.
The Essex outfit
dominated from the first quarter - an 8-0 tear gave them an 18-9 advantage
and they never looked back again. An 18-2 run in the second quarter increased
Leopards' lead out to 45-23.
They maintained
their dominance in the third quarter and although Tigers trimmed the deficit
in the fourth, it was too late to change the result.
Rico Alderson was
Leopards' star man with 25 points, but it was Tigers' John McCord who led
all scorers, bagging 28 points.
