Leopards
took some revenge for their Cup Final defeat to Leicester last month with
a 113-103 defeat of the Riders at Brentwood on Sunday, moving up
into second place in the Southern Conference.
The Essex outfit
- who only had themselves to blame for their Trophy exit 24 hours earlier
- were sparked by 26 points and 16 rebounds from Rico Alderson.
Leopards led 50-43
at half-time and maintained that advantage in the third quarter. Riders
pulled level at 84-84 with five minutes remaining in the final quarter
and kept it close until the closing stages, when Leopards made the game
safe from the foul line.
Riders' Billy Singleton
each bagged 26 points in the game to lead his team's scoring.
