Leopards show little Valentine's cheer

It wasn't quite the Valentine's Day massacre that Iain Maclean feared but the Rocks still came away from Essex with yet another defeat.

The Leopards pulled off a 100-87 win over visiting Edinburgh Rocks on Wednesday night at Brentwood, but needed a final quarter push to take the points which moved Bob Donewald's side up to second in the Southern Conference.

A superb 28 points and 10 rebounds contribution from Jo-Jo Chambers was a big plus for the visitors and despite the absence of the injured Rock Winston, the Scots pushed their hosts all the way and led 44-36 after some impressive shooting in the first half.

However Leopards retrieved the lead in third quarter and burst decisively in front with 12-2 burst in the fourth, Jason Kimbrough leading the visitors with 22 points.

Rod Brown was one assist short of a rare triple-double, adding 17 points and 14 rebounds to his nine assists.
