It wasn't
quite the Valentine's Day massacre that Iain Maclean feared but the Rocks
still came away from Essex with yet another defeat.
The Leopards pulled
off a 100-87 win over visiting Edinburgh Rocks on Wednesday night at Brentwood,
but needed a final quarter push to take the points which moved Bob Donewald's
side up to second in the Southern Conference.
A superb 28 points
and 10 rebounds contribution from Jo-Jo Chambers was a big plus for the
visitors and despite the absence of the injured Rock Winston, the Scots
pushed their hosts all the way and led 44-36 after some impressive shooting
in the first half.
However Leopards
retrieved the lead in third quarter and burst decisively in front with
12-2 burst in the fourth, Jason Kimbrough leading the visitors with 22
points.
Rod Brown was one
assist short of a rare triple-double, adding 17 points and 14 rebounds
to his nine assists.
