London Leopards
picked up another home victory on Sunday evening, defeating Derby Storm
97-81, to stay level
with Milton Keynes Lions in joint second in the BBL Championship
Southern Conference.
After an even first
quarter, Leopards stole ahead in the second quarter, thanks to an 8-0 run,
which gave them a 54-41 advantage. Further bursts of nine unanswered points
and then six points without reply from the Leopards cemented their lead
in the third period and although Derby rallied with a 6-0 tear of their
own, the deficit was too large for the Storm to overcome.
Rico Alderson led
all scorers, bagging 28 points against his old club, while Jermaine Brown
was Derby's star man with 25 points.
