Thames Valley Tigers strengthened their hold at the top of pool B of the uni-ball trophy defeating the Leicester Riders 92-98 on Saturday night at Loughborough.
The visitors blasted out of the blocks to take a 21-36 first quarter lead and looked to be coasting to victory as they led 38-62.
However an impressive 35-13 third quarter burst put Leicester back in contention and Billy Mims side even re-took the lead by five points midway through the fourth quarter.
But John McCord proved irresistable, scoring 17 consecutive points out of his game-high haul of 35 for the Tigers to see them home.
Larry Johnson top scored for Leicester with 27 with Purnell Perry - restored after his suspension - added 26.
