Riders start Trophy
drive with win
In the opening match of Group A in the
uni-ball trophy, it was hosts Leicester Riders who started on a positive
note, defeating Derby Storm 91-85 at Loughborough on Sunday night.
Riders - who led 24-23 after ten minutes
- had a 21-3 tear around half-time to lead 58-38, but 36 points from Barry
Bowman saw the Storm back in the game and they led by one late in the fourth.
However Billy Mims' side hit the next seven
points to lead 86-80 and secure the win, Purnell Perry notching a team-high
27 points.
