Towers collapse to leave Frankfurt on top

London Towers were denied a second Euroleague victory, as Opel Skyliners Frankfurt snatched a dramatic 79-76 victory in Germany.

Towers led by as many as 16 in the first half but Frankfurt came back to level late in the third. A 9-2 run around the final break gave the home side a 65-57 cushion, but a Wayne Henry three and a Eric Burks lay-up of a Randy Duck steal pulled Towers to within two, 74-72, with a minute left.

The home side though netted the next five points to secure their first win in the competition.

Burks led Towers with 16 with Tom Wideman and Duck netting 14 apiece. Derrick Taylor of Frankfurt hit a game-high 20 but both sides are all but eliminated from the race to make stage two.
