Edinburgh
Rocks coach Iain Maclean felt obliged to apologise for his his team's shortcomings
after the Meadowbank outfit were crushed 94-56 by Milton Keynes Lions in
the BBL Championship on Sunday.
The Scots - 116-75
losers at Leicester on Saturday - engaged in what has become a depressingly
familiar sight this season, holding their own briefly in the initial exchanges
before collapsing heavily under pressure.
"I've never felt
so frustrated," lamented Maclean. "We showed no desire, no intensity and
no cohesion. Once teams switch up a gear and get ahead, we give up."
20 unanswered points
around the first quarter break put the visitors 34-17 ahead and with Rocks
leading scorer Ted Berry a dead-weight before his eventual removal, Edinburgh
were not even at the races.
Rock Winston
led his side with 20 points while Jason Siemon hit 24 for the victors,
most of his tally coming in the Lions decisive first quarter surge.
