Towers crush Rocks as Giants, Tigers win

Manchester Giants closed the gap back to 4 points on the Newcastle Eagles in 3rd spot in the BBL Championship Northern Conference with a 86-79 success over the Derby Storm.
The Giants looked in control leading 69-62 early in the final quarter only for the Storm to level the game at 73-73 each. It was to be the Giants who remained the calmest however, nudging in front and then nailing the crucial shots from the free throw line. Storms' Barry Bowman was the games leading scorer with 24 points.

London Towers 91 (21,39,65) (Duck 20, Warren 18, Taylor 16)
HARIBO London Towers enjoyed their trip north of the border recording a 91-75 success over the Edinburgh Rocks on Saturday night in the BBL Championship.
The Towers strengthened their hold to six points at the top of the Southern Conference with a typically dominating performance taking a double figure advantage at 39-27 at the half and keeping their hosts at arms length for the remainder of the game. Rocks Rock Winston was the games leading scorer with 21 points.
 

Brighton Bears 88 (21,38,64) (Johnson 32, Reese 20, Brown 12)
Thames Valley Tigers 99 (29,53,69) (Robinson 29, McCord 23, Christie 18)
Thames Valley Tigers stepped up their claim for a play off berth with a hard fought 99-88 success over the Brighton Bears.
The Tigers had to withstand a late Bears rally after the hosts started the final quarter with a 7-1 tear to take a 71-70 lead. The Tigers regained control instantly rattling off the next 10 points to make the game safe. Bears Wilbur Johnson was unstoppable with 32 points while Kelvin Robinson had 29 for the Tigers.
