Newcastle Eagles moved into third spot in the Northern Conference with a 78-91 success over the winless Derby Storm at the Thunderdome.

The Eagles did the damage in the third quarter rattling off 8 and 9 points without reply, the latter all three pointers to close out the quarter 68-79 in front. 

The Storm,  led by Antonia Garcia's 20 points and 20 rebounds could not get close enough in the final quarter to mount a challenge to the Eagles advantage, falling to 0-5.

Former Storm player Tony Windless netted 22 for the visitors, Ian Whyte adding 21.
