Storm past Riders
Derby Storm avenged their defeat at Leicester
last Sunday, with a 112-101 victory over the Riders in the uni-ball trophy
on Friday night.
And once again, Kevin Wall's side enjoyed
an all-round contribution from Panamanian star Antonio Garcia who had his
usual double-double, with 28 points and 15 rebounds.
After the hosts held a narrow advantage
after the opening period, a 19-8 start to the second quarter put Derby
into a lead they would never lose and which
peaked at 20 points in the fourth quarter
100-80 before Leicester closed the gap as time ran out.
Larry Johnson and Purnell Perry hit 32
apiece to lead Leicester's scoring.
