Derby Storm
cruised to a 104-84 home victory over Edinburgh Rocks this evening in the
BBL Championship and in doing so leapfrogged their guests at the foot of
the Northern Conference standings.
The Rocks led early
on but could not live with Derby who edged in front late in the first period.
Although leading
54-42 at half time, the Storm really sealed the victory in the third quarter,
as an 18-3 run gave them a 72-47 advantage with 4.27 to go. They maintained
their advantage in the final quarter to ease home.
Barry Bowman top
scored with 25 points, to which Antonio Garcia added 20 points and 16 reounds.
New Derby recruit, Tony McCrory had 9 points and 6 rebounds on his debut,
while Rocks' new boy, Jamie Simmons, scored two points.

the Rock-bottom Scots with 21.
