Chester
Jets moved top of the BBL Championship Northern Conference with a 98-103
win away to Derby Storm in the BBL Championship, leaving host coach Kevin
Wall frustrated again.
A 13-0 tear in the
first quarter gave the Jets the early edge and they led 35-22 heading into
the second quarter.
With Barry Bowman
picking up three fouls in as many minutes, the Storm's point guard sat
out most of the first half and while Derby managed to reduce the deficit
to just two points in the third quarter, at 58-60, Jets responded immediately
and an 11-2 run restored their dominance.
Chester led 80-67
at the start of the fourth quarter and although Derby hit a 16-7 run to
close out the game, it was not enough to change the result.
Jermaine Brown was
once again Derby's best scorer with 32 points; James Hamilton led Chester's
scoring with 26.
