Westfield
Sharks Sheffield bounced back from their uni-ball trophy semi-final agony,
to move
four points clear
at the top of the BBl Northern Conference. The Sharks gained some revenge
for
Saturday's defeat
by beating the Chester Jets 83-91 at the Northgate Arena.
It ended two unwanted
franchise records for the Sharks - five defeats in a row in all competitions
prior to the game
was their worst run and five defeats in a row to the Jets equalled their
worst
run against any
BBL side.
A 7-4 start to the
second quarter had the Sharks 22-30 up, but a 10-2 reply by the Jets levelled
the match. Sheffield regained the advantage with a 12-2 burst in the third
quarter to lead 52-61 and when Chester replied again, Nate Reinking bagged
consecutive three-pointers to ensure Sharks their first win of the season
over Robbie Peers' men.
Loren Meyer led all
scorers with 31 points, whilst Reinking led the Sharks with 21.
