A superb
second quarter from London Towers was enough to see them to a 80-99 victory
away to Northern Conference high-fliers, Chester Jets, on Sunday evening
in the first meeting between the sides this term..
Towers outscored
the Jets 26-12 in the second period to lead 52-36 at half-time and they
built on that
in the third quarter
to lead 61-43 - the biggest lead of the game. Chester hit back with an
8-2 tear to reduce the deficit to 51-63 and then got back to within ten
points in the fourth quarter.
But, Towers were
not finished and they made the result safe with an 11-5 run to close the
game.
Kiwi captain, Pero
Cameron led the scoring for the Jets with 27 points, bettered only by
Towers' Randy Duck,
who led all-scorers with 30 points.
